9/28/25 Worship Service & Sermon: Salvation's Present - 1 Peter 1:6-9

9/28/25 Worship Service and Sermon from Brick Lane Community Church in Elverson, PA. Speaker: Dave Royes, Senior Pastor Worship Leader: Steve Boyer Scripture: 1 Peter 1:6-9 Title: Salvation's Present In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith--more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire--may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls. Notes: 1. Introduction A. Past, present, and future B. Weaving together marvelous truths C. God is chasing your true joy 2. Grief in the hand of God A. Temporary grief because of trials B. Divine necessity behind godly disappointment 3. Faith in the furnace of fire A. Trusting Jesus now: of inestimable value B. Trusting Jesus now: authenticated C. Trusting Jesus now: an end 4. Joy in the absence of sight A. An unspeakable joy B. What animates you? 5. Application The Thorn, by Martha Snell Nicholson: I stood a mendicant of God, before His royal throne And begged Him for one priceless gift, which I could call my own. I took the gift from out His hand, but as I would depart, I cried, "But, Lord, this is a thorn, and it has pierced my heart. This is a strange, a hurtful gift, which Thou hast given me." He said, "My child, I give good gifts and gave My best to thee." I took it home and, though at first the cruel thorn hurt sore, As long years passed I learned at last to love it more and more. I learned He never gives a thorn without this added grace: He takes the thorn to pin aside the veil which hides His face. #salvation #trials #joy
