11/16/25 Worship Service & Sermon: As You Come to Him - 1 Peter 2:4-9

Join us for worship! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmTRKJt1l4k 11/16/25 Worship Service and Sermon from Brick Lane Community Church in Elverson, PA. Worship leader: Dawson Estes Speaker: David Royes Scripture: 1 Peter 2:4-9 Title: As You Come To Him As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For it stands in Scripture: "Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame." So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe, "The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone," and "A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense." They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do. But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Notes: Main point: Endurance occurs when we stand together 1. Introduction A. Who Christians are together B. Main point 2. A spiritual house A. Christians gather in the presence of God B. Christians gather for right worship of God 3. An eternal decree A. Jesus is the foundation of the house B. Jesus is the architect of the house 4. A treasured people A. A people God delights in B. So that you may proclaim You saw, O king, and behold, a great image. This image, mighty and of exceeding brightness stood before you, and its appearance was frightening. The head of this image was of fine gold, its chest and arms of silver, its middle and thighs of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay. As you looked, a stone was cut out by no human hand, and it struck the image on its feet of iron and clay and broke them in pieces...And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed. Nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever. (Daniel 2:31-34, 44) If you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine; and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.
